Eligible for a Working Holiday Visa?
To be eligible for a working holiday
visa, you must:
-
Hold a passport from one of the
countries listed below
-
Be aged between 18 and 30
-
Have no dependent
children
-
Have a return ticket or sufficient
funds for a return ticket
-
Have sufficient funds for the first
part of your stay in Australia
Countries which have the Working Holiday
Visa
United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Republic of
Ireland, Republic of Korea, Malta, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway,
the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People's
Republic of China, Finland, the Republic of Cyprus, France, and
Italy, Belgium, Estonia and Taiwan.
What am I allowed and not
allowed to do while I have this visa?
When you are granted a working holiday visa, two main
conditions will be attached to your visa and shown on your visa
label. They are:
Condition 8108
You cannot work for the same employer for more than 3
months, however no restrictions are placed on the type of work
you do
Condition 8201
You cannot study for more than 3 months
If you fail
to comply with these conditions, your visa may be cancelled
Please note
that the main purpose of your visit should be to holiday and travel.
Any work should be incidental to supplement your funds so that you
can continue travelling
How long can I stay in
Australia?
Working holidaymakers are permitted a
stay of 12 months from the date of issue of the visa,
regardless of the amount of time actually spent in Australia. After arriving in
Australia, you may be able to apply for another type of visa
to stay longer in Australia.

may be able to apply for the visa over the internet here
or you can apply for the visa at your nearest Australian
mission
You cannot apply for this visa from
inside Australia
