Australia's Business Skills Program is a visa scheme designed for experienced business people or investors who are committed to conducting business or investment activity in Australia 

Business Skills Program - Application Stages

The Business Skills Program comprises the following stages:

1. An application for a provisional or temporary visa for the first 2 to 4 years

2. After establishing a required level of business or investment activity, an application for a Permanent Residence Visa can be made

Some visa applicants may be able to bypass the first stage if they are able to demonstrate a very high level of business skill

First Stage - Provisional Business Visa

If your application for a Business Owner/Senior Executive/Investor visa is successful, you will be entitled to live in Australia for a period of 4 years, during which time you will be a temporary resident

Second Stage - Permanent Business Visa

Once you have established your business or maintained your investment in Australia, you may apply for permanent residency. You must have been operating your business in Australia for at least 2 years, or retained your investment for 4 years

Business Skills Program - Main Visa Subclasses

1. Business Owner -  For people who own and manage a business

2. Senior Executive - For senior executives employed by major businesses

3. Investor - For experienced investors who are willing to invest substantial capital into an Australian Government Security for a fixed term of 4 years

4. Business Talent - For high calibre business people who have sponsorship from a State/Territory goverment

People temporarily in Australia who are owners or part owners of a business may be eligible to migrate under the Established Business in Australia visa category
